Evil and suffering have extensively filled the world today. It leads to many Christians asking the reason as to why God has allowed the evil to have a place in the world.Evil exhibits itself in three different forms, it can be moral, natural or supernatural.Temptation is a process that may lead to the occurrence of sin.
The Christian explanation for there being evil and suffering in the world is mainly based on “the fall” and the story of Adam and Eve. It explains how a serpent tempted Adam and Eve to eat from the tree of knowledge saying that it would make them as powerful as God.
Evil directly influences and causes suffering so therefore they run hand in hand. Many people question God for him allowing evil to be real. Why would he allow evil to be known if he knows how bad things can get. Depending on how one views the concept of “God,” they can explain evil and suffering.When Schopenhauer says that all life is suffering he means everything that lives and strives, is filled with suffering, he puts it as “It is absurd to look upon the enormous amount of pain that abounds everywhere in the world.”(Pg 63) Suffering is ultimately caused by the frustration and conflict that arises from competition between individual wills.Lesson 3.1.
